Before you start studying the Bible, do you prepare your heart? Psalm 131: 1-2 states, “1 Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me. 2 Surely, I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child. Here are some ways to prepare your heart before your start your Bible study.
Write down your concerns
Write down your concerns and worries. Writing helps you to concentrate on your Bible Study. Writing also helps to develop a strategy for your studying. You will begin to research scripture pertaining to your subject. Finding scripture about your subject will help you focus on the word and not the world. Start planning your Bible study by writing down your strategy.
Meditate on the scripture
When you find the scripture that you need, meditate on it. Once you find that scripture, look in the concordance and find other scripture. A study Bible will have related scriptures on the same page. Look up your subject and scripture online. There are a lot of Bible apps that can help. My favorite is the You Version. Find ways to meditate on the scripture.
Pray
Prayer is important. If you do not believe that God will deliver you, he will not. You cannot let doubt cloud your mind when you speak to God. Go in a quiet place and let go of all negative emotions. Act like a child and humble yourself before God. Pray for God to reveal his will through your bible study. Do not forget to start your Bible study with a prayer.
Prepare your hearts before studying the word.

People are stressed about the Pandemic. When I am afraid, I have a panic attack. A panic attack causes problems to your mind, body, and soul. If you are going through this, do me a favor and sit down because you are making the situation worse. We have to be strong to help others. Let’s look at signs of a panic attack.
Pacing
Here how it happens. You are going to the kitchen to wash the dishes. Then, you think about the dirty clothes in the hamper. You take your focus off of the running water and put the dirty clothes in the laundry. Your sink is now overflowing. You did not finish what you started. You also have a bigger mess to clean up. Focus on one thing at a time.
Heavy breathing
Your heart is a muscle. Heavy breathing causes your heart to work overtime. Heavy breathing elevates your blood pressure. This causes the blood to not flow through your arteries. To fight off a cold or virus, your body has to be in good shape. Your lungs have to work properly to fight off the Coronavirus. Don’t overwork your lungs because of your thoughts. Take some deep breaths and rest.
Fixation
Thinking is not doing. Doing is doing. Stop fixating on the situation because fear can become a part of your fixation. When you are afraid, you do not move. Stop being afraid. There are people who have died because of the Coronavirus. If you live through this, you are blessed. Put your thoughts in action, and you will be able to handle the pandemic.
The country is in a Pandemic. We cannot stress about it because we will start having panic attacks. During this time, we should be resting, planning, and doing something positive.

Pray
This is the one thing that you cannot skip. I do not pray all the time, but I feel better when I do talk to God. One of God’s promise is that he will never leave us. So, the best way to start a prayer is to ask for forgiveness. This will help your soul feel lighter and you can communicate with God openly and freely. Remember if you pray in the dark, you will be awarded in the light.
Share God’s goodness with others
Telling others about how good God has been to you will help you grow in faith. This is our duty as a soldier in God’s army to go out and spread his goodness. Tell others how God can fix any problems that they have. You need to be kind and considerate. Don’t judge. Listen to others with an open heart.
