Finding Peace in the Chaos

Life often feels overwhelming. The news cycle never stops, politics stir constant division, and uncertainty leaves many of us anxious. But as believers, we know that true peace doesn’t come from the world—it comes from God.
When everything feels out of control, pause for a moment.

Take a deep breath.

Meditation helps one to control breathing.  We must train our brains just like we train our bodies. Deep breaths help you like exercising helps your body.  Build a routine of deep breathing.  Try a 4-7-8 technique.  This technique helps you to refocus.  We all lose focus.  Just make sure you get back on track.

Whisper a prayer.

Matthew 6:6 states. “But when you pray, go away by yourself, shut the door behind you, and pray to your Father in private. Then your Father, who sees everything, will reward you..” Relying on God’s word is hard.  We can see him.  That is faith. Our faith is not based on what we see.  It is based on our relationship with God.

Sip a warm cup of tea.

Make sure you put some herbs on your shopping list to make some herbal teas. Lemon Balm is a great herb to have this time of year because it builds the immune system.  You can fill your coffee mug with water and put some dry herbs in the cup, then place the cup in the microwave.

These small acts of self-care align your mind, body, and soul with God’s truth: He is still in control. Peace begins not when circumstances change, but when our hearts remember that God reigns. Choosing to slow down, pray, and create calm spaces is how we resist chaos.

What small step will you take today to invite peace into your soul?
