God Called Samuel
Samuel lived in the temple under the care of Eli the priest. One night, Samuel heard someone call his name. Immediately, he ran to Eli because he believed Eli had called him.
This happened three times.
Finally, Eli realized the Lord was speaking to Samuel. Therefore, he told Samuel to answer, “Speak, Lord, for Your servant is listening.”
Samuel obeyed.
From that moment forward, Samuel learned to listen carefully to God and faithfully shared God’s messages with others.
What Children Can Learn from Samuel
Children hear countless voices every day. They hear teachers, friends, family members, coaches, and information through technology. Consequently, learning to listen to God’s Word helps them develop wisdom and good character.
